I don’t know video editing. I’m editing videos with AI.

I have no background in video editing. I’ve paid editors to do that work for me.

Recently, I started experimenting with AI edits, and some of the outputs are better than edits I’ve paid for. Better to my eyes, for my videos. That is a personal comparison, but it has been a surprising one.

There is a strange gap between being able to recognize something good and knowing how to make it. I can look at an edit and like the result without knowing how to reproduce it in an editing program. AI is letting me work inside that gap.

I’m still experimenting. I don’t have a method to teach or a claim about what this means for everyone who edits professionally.

For now, I’m someone with no video-editing knowledge getting results I didn’t expect to be able to make. That is enough to keep me trying.
