A learning platform that teaches Ethiopians to build for the web, and to earn from it.
One Flutter codebase across iOS, Android and the web, with Firebase behind it and payment built for how money actually moves here.
The product
Codvoy teaches web development from zero, in English, Amharic and Afaan Oromoo, and points the whole course at one outcome: earning in dollars from Addis Ababa. Video lessons, quizzes and exercises, and a code playground to write that first HTML in.
What I built
All of it. The video and subtitle pipeline, the in-browser playground, roles and permissions, notifications, payments, certificates, the admin console and the analytics — the last under a deliberate ceiling, because a student who pays $50 cannot cost a dollar in telemetry.
The part that is not code
Cards are not how people pay here. A purchase is a mobile-banking transfer confirmed by hand, so the product carries an approval queue, a receipt trail, and an entitlement that unlocks only once the money has actually arrived.
