A real first job needs real work
My first Upwork job paid $5.
That belongs in my story. It doesn’t give me a formula I can promise will work for someone else.
While preparing my course, I wanted to include an opportunity for learners to do paid testing. I was particular about what that should mean: a real task, a useful report, payment for the work, and honest feedback.
A promised rating would miss the point.
Testing can be a small assignment with real responsibility. Can you notice a problem? Explain what you expected? Describe what happened clearly enough for someone else to reproduce it?
Those are things a learner can practice and a client can use.
That is the kind of first opportunity I want to prepare. Something small enough to attempt, but substantial enough that finishing it means they delivered useful work.
